My approach
I am an experienced, LGBTQI+ affirming therapist who offers nationwide virtual therapy via Zoom or Microsoft Teams for any adult suffering emotional difficulties or mental illness.

As I draw from a range of evidence-based treatment protocols, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), I offer a compassion-based approach focusing on my client's goals for therapy and creating a better life.
While we can't always control the emotional impact of what is happening in the world around us, we can find helpful ways of responding to those emotions that doesn't keep us stuck in the same patterns and failures.
My sessions are 50 minutes long, and cost $160, to be paid the day of the session.
I am currently accepting new clients, offering limited evening and weekend appointments.
My qualifications:
Postgraduate Diploma (Distinction) Psychology, University of Waikato, New Zealand, 2014
Master of Social Sciences (Honours) Psychology, University of Waikato, New Zealand, 2017
Postgraduate Diploma in Psychology (Clinical), University of Waikato, New Zealand, 2018

Working with all mental health or emotional struggles that get in the way of creating the life you want to live, including:
Anxiety
While anxiety is a normal emotion, it can become a problem when it becomes excessive, involves extreme fear or worry, or stops you from living your life in the way that you want to. There are many different types of anxiety and symptoms might include intrusive thoughts, avoiding certain situations, overthinking, and worrying. You may struggle to sleep or be present because you’re so caught up in your thoughts..
Low self-esteem
Do you battle with a relentlessly negative view of yourself, or an inner dialogue that just has nothing kind to say to you?
Or perhaps you feel that you are never good enough. These can all be indicators of low self-worth and esteem.
Depression
Sometimes called the black dog, depression can be marked by persistent and debilitating feelings of sadness, loss, emptiness, dread or even anger. The permanent low mood can make every day a struggle, when even getting out of bed can be exhausting and nothing brings you pleasure like it used to.
Guilt and shame
Chronic guilt and shame can have debilitating impact on your life. It is so powerful it can feel all-consuming and can lead to depression, low self esteem or other mental health challenges.
Trauma
Trauma can be the result of one experience or multiple experiences, including childhood abuse or neglect. For single event trauma, symptoms may include re-experiencing the event, nightmares, distressing memories, guilt, shame, anxiety, stress and avoidance. For complex trauma symptoms may include all of the above and/or difficulty regulating your emotions, difficulty trusting others and forming strong, supportive relationships, and feeling helpless to change your life.
Other difficulties
This might be trouble adjusting to changing life circumstances; difficulties with relationships, including those with romantic partners, friends or children; grief; or anything else that is keeping you stuck
It is part of being human to experience pain. But how do we interact with that in a way that means it is not overtaking our lives, so that we can focus on what’s important to us?
